Outdoor travel stays strong in 2026 as AI enters trip planning
RMS, the leading hospitality growth platform for hotels, serviced apartments, short-term rentals and campgrounds, today released its 2026 State of the Outdoor Accommodation Report, revealing continued strength in outdoor travel alongside significant shifts in how campers discover, book, and experience their stays.
Based on responses from 1,500 campers across the U.S., U.K., Australia and New Zealand, the report found that 66% plan to camp more in the coming year, up eight percentage points from last year, while 86% identify as lifelong or returning campers.
